A post for 2010

Hi All,

So this is the longest time nothing has appeared on gupshup and the thought of getting through 2010 without a single blog (!!!!) isn't very appealing :)

so perhaps we should talk about time. the transitory nature of time. We have all heard - time is like flowing river, it doesnt come back. And this moment when i write cannot come back. 2010 will not come back in a month from now.

someone once said to me, if you ever are in a situation where you are disturbed by another's actions or something doesn't seem to be going right; then just imagine the vastness of time. It began from nothingness and it will continue into infinity. And in this vastness of time, we are but occupying such a limited sphere. In our limited sphere - another's actions are even more minor and miniscule. And somehow it makes you feel better. It is just the beauty of time. It can be viewed in so many ways and perceived such that you can feel from profound happiness to profound sadness! It depends on how you choose to see it :)

i heard an interesting story once. When Mahabharat was being televised, a lot of information had to be given in third person. For continuity of the story they could not be shot or explained without a narrator. They wondered who would be ideal as a narrator and finally they chose 'Time'. Do you remember that famous line ' main samay hoon' And so in the most beautiful way they had the perfect narrator.

There is a beautiful book 'tuesdays with morrie' about a dying professor who meets his student every tuesday to tell him about life's lessons while he is slowly passing away. And I am not so sure but I do think, it was in this book - they discuss how you truly live is by living in others memories. Because memories keep you alive long after you are gone. It is memories which really tell the story of your life. So what really is the time you occupy in this vastness of time - it is that in the memory of another.

Well i guess the intellectually idle had quite a ball writing this blog!

Your experience with time - the crunch, the deadlines, the endless waiting or any other are most welcome!!!

all my love
nitasha (delhi edition)
